Dating outside the race...

Hello everyone I am new and so looking for insight.....
Why do African American Women so hate the thought of White Women with a Black Man...and yet a Black Woman with a White Man is OK..??

Coming from a Multi Cultural family I am white but was brought up by a Bengali (black) stepmother..and amongst Bengali people....
I have never felt comfortable with caucasian men.....and in Aus there were no other options open to me....and so after divorcing my husband
(white) I have been alone....

I am considering re-locating to the USA where I hope my options will be more open, however feel that I may just be swapping one form of Racial prejudice for another.....


I really look forward to any replies.....

A part of the reason for no responses up to this point, is because this is a TIRED QUESTION! We have dealt with this issue for as long as we have been able to "mix" with the white race and not be killed for it.

I will try to enlighten you on this issue as it regards to our race. The reason for the anger and bitterness can only be understood after you have been briefed on the origins of the problem. When we came here to the USA, we came as the slaves of white people. They the women, oftentimes right in the presence of, or within earshot of her children. They used, abused, mistreated, ---- and burned us. They also cheated us out of our fair share of the profits from the cotton, agricultural, and industrial industries in which we were forced to labor.
(The issue of reparations is centered around this) The white man collected billions of dollars for himself and his heirs off the backs of black people, so many of us believe that we are entitiled to some form of payment for that economic injustice.
In other words, if the white man had paid us fairly back then, we would not be as poor collectively as we are now; we would have been able to leave an inheritance for our heirs just as they did.

They prevented us from being able to learn; they sold off husbands from their wives; wives from their husbands; and children from their fathers.
In doing this the white man prevented us from forming nuclear families and this in turn prevented us from being able to leave an inheritance or a legacy for our children.

I will stop there because there are so many more atrocities that the white man committed against us, until it would take me 15 years to tell you about all of them. But you get the idea.

Now fast forward to the 1900's. We had to endure lynchings and house burnings at the hand of the white man along with the injustice of not being given equal and adequate resources and facilities to educate ourselves and our children. Learn and Read about the"Black Wall Street" massacre and what white people did to destroy an honest black community who pulled themselves up by their bootstaps to create a thriving wealthy black community and how the hatred of this success motivated white people to burn down and kill the black people of that town who did nothing to deserve it.

So you see, its the way that white people have and still continue to treat us, that makes some sisters and brothers like myself wonder how could some of us run to the white race and beg to lay down with them?

Yes, some black people (like myself) get upset when we see one of us running off to marry or date a white person. The sisters hate it because it says to them that they are not good enough to date or marry a man whom God created especially for them.
Brothers like me get mad when I see a sister date or marry a white boy, because it says to me that she thinks that that white boy is better than me, even though I believe that God made her especially for me.

So in conclusion, you need to know that I along with the sisters do not want to kill or hurt our fellow brothers and sisters who date outside of the race; we just wish in our hearts that they would try a little harder to stay inside the race. Some black people like me do understand that in some cases you cant help you you fall in love with, but it should be based on love and not what the person can provide for you. A lot of these brothers and sisters did not get into the relationships based on love, but rather based on the fact that the white person has money.
Think about it.

if you feel inferior when you see a Sister dating a white man, then surely the problem is yours not hers and is possibly the reason she is dating a white man.....the only person who can make you feel inferior is you....
maybe its time you realised we all belong to one race...the Human race...
sadly your attitude is the one that keeps the 'racial' thing going....
open your mind as well as your heart and maybe you will see there are a lot of really nice...human beings out here..and who knows you may even get to like some of us...

I see you finally saw my commentary. I thought you were going to say thanks for the commentary, since no one else was interested in responding to you, but I see you chose to attack me instead.

You asked a question about dating outside of ones' race; I provided with you with an opinion and you conclude that I'm closed minded and that I feel inferior to white people.

I choose to stay within my own race for dating and marriage, and you have the nerve to call me closed minded? You know nothing about the many friendships I have formed with white male and female friends over the years, yet you have the nerve to call me closed minded?

When did dating outside of ones' race become "the benchmark for open mindedness."

Interracial dating and marriage is not for everybody, or are you too closed minded to accept this fact?

For your comment about me feeling inferior; I dont know how the f--k you drew that conclusion, but I have competed with and have beaten white people far too many times in many different aspects of life to feel inferior to them. You read my words and drew an incorrect conclusion.

You also said that "sadly, my attitude is what keeps the racial thing going". You dont know anything about the work or effort I have put into building friendships and partnerships with white people and other races to even say such a thing.

I do not have to endorse white and black people dating, in order prove that I am open minded. Why do you place so much value on this one component?

Did you know that a person can choose to date, mate, and reproduce exclusively with members of their own race? or have you decided that this too is racist?

Tell you what, I'll live my life continuing to love only black women and you can live your life choosing to love only black men. How 'bout that?

i liked your little commentary on how the white mistreated you and your race, My people had such hard times to, Given small pox ridden blankets, having are language taken away, and the treatys we made with the whites not honered, still to this day, but we still have Pride, I just though Ide let you know, as for the sisters who want to run off and marry a white man, the heart want what the heart wants.

I am a African American Female who has dated periodically White men exclusively.

Why? Perhaps it was my way of getting back at all of the Black men who chose to date white women.

I have to agree with Tyler Perry, any Black man who can not find a beautiful intelligent BLACK woman just hasn't looked hard enough!We're out here!!!!!

No, I don't /didn't think it was right for me to be on a white man's arm or in his bed. But it gave me the opportunity to understand what Black men go through in making their choice.

White women, to some Black men are held in high esteem simply because they were withheld from them. Anything that you have never had becomes valuable....

While White men have Black women for years, it seems today that when that white man chooses finally to stop raping the Black Woman behind closed doors and actually marry her that she feels that she has been honored withinn some sick twisted logic.

It is wrong!

It's like a plant deciding that it wants to be an animal. But if we didn't have plants the whole ecosystem would be screwed up.

Now that I am an adult, I realize that we have to become strong in our own RAces, in order to do our job in the social ecosystem. Strong Black families produce children with strong identities. Yes, I agree with the Aryans on this point. The same goes for a strong White family!

When we become strong in our own individuality, we become a valuable resource for all of mankind.

We can still love one another without clinbing in the wrong "bed"!!!lol

We can ALL still get along without creating children of mixed heritage, who have no clue as to who they are!

But lets get to the real facts.There is the one's that choose life with a relationship with Jesus Christ and those that dont.The ones that have a real relationship with Jesus don't have any problems with color were just brothers and sisters in Christ.
